About Us

Andrew Carden and Allison Postlethwait are a cute movie-going couple who decided to start a blog. Their glorious third date was a trip to the cineplex to witness the star-studded guilty pleasure that is Olympus Has Fallen and not a week has gone by since without at least one film on the agenda. During the awesomeness that is Oscar season, check in with them to get the latest commentary, predictions and reviews, as well as comprehensive lists of all of the season’s nominees and winners, from the Oscars to the Globes to the guild awards to the critics’ prizes. Off-season, be sure to check in too, as Andrew and Allison post their latest film reviews, put together random best and worst lists and embark on the journey that is the Oscar Flashback, when Andrew and Allison revisit a past Oscar category and debate who or what really should’ve taken home the statue. This could get heated!

Andrew, AKA Human IMDb (to his trivia team), is a native of the most exciting city in the world, Albany, NY. He has been a massive film buff since he can remember – his earliest recollection is a double feature of Groundhog Day and A Few Good Men with his parents at the Malta Drive-In, when he was two – and has diligently followed the awards seasons since 2002, when he sighed over Catherine Zeta-Jones’ win (for Chicago) over Kathy Bates (for About Schmidt) for Best Supporting Actress. (Seriously, Kathy has deserved at least four Oscars at this point.) Andrew is a graduate of Northeastern University, where he obtained a master’s in journalism and public policy. His investigative report into archaic laws still on the books in Massachusetts was published on the front page of The Boston Globe in 2013. Andrew currently resides in Boston with his better half and works in state government.

Allison graced her presence to the world not so far from her future beau, in Syracuse, NY. She is your average 90s child with favorite movies such as The Lion King and Jurassic Park. As an avid equestrian and amateur marathoner, Allison is a sucker for a classic tear-jerking sports story. Her love of movies and film making grew from editing future classics on an original colorful iMac (yes, she once made her own interpretation of Shakespeare's The Tempest staring her pony, a definite future YouTube sensation); to discovering the complexities of f-stops and super 8 film at the New York Film Academy summer program; to directing the annual Progeny Film Festival at her Alma Mater, Virginia Tech. Allison has a degree in communications and currently works at a small private college in Boston.
